Behavior Management System
In the classroom, there is a clip chart that is used as a visual reminder of individual student's behavior. Students will clip down for any misbehavior. If a misbehavior occurs, students will clip down. This first clip down, on the color blue, will count as a warning. If the misbehavior occurs again, the student will be asked to clip down to purple. If the student is on purple, then the student will have to complete a behavior reflection or walk 5 minutes at recess. If the misbehavior occurs again, the student will clip down to pink. At this point, the student will have to complete a behavior reflection or walk all of recess and receive a phone call or note home to notify the family.
I also appreciate awesome, appropriate school behavior! Students who are caught demonstrating superb behavior will have the opportunity to clip up! At the end of the month, if a student has a certain number of points, he or she will receive a reward!
*Please note, depending on the severity of the misbehavior, the student may be immediately written up. An example of this would include fighting.
I also highly encourage productive teamwork! In my classroom, the students' desks are almost always grouped together. Each table will have the opportunity to earn points! On Friday, the table with the most points will be the "Table of the Week" for the following week.
Please review the document below for further explanation!

Bathroom & Water Breaks
Students will be able to use the restroom and/or get water when arriving in the mornings, before enhancement, during lunch, after lunch, and during recess. Your child will also receive a Bathroom Pass Card on the first day of each of the nine weeks. This card will have 20 passes on it. This is for your child to use during instructional time. At the end of the nine weeks, if your child has 15 or more passes left, then he/she will receive a behavior coupon!
If your child needs additional restroom breaks, please send in a note so I can accommodate his/her needs.
Also, students may keep a water bottle at their desk during the day.

Snack Time
During the school day, you may pack a snack for your child. We will have a snack time in the morning. Students will be required to continue working while they eat their snack. If your child is unable to eat and complete school work at the same time, then he/she will be told to clip down. Please do not send sodas for snack with your child. Please send snacks that are healthy & nutritious!
